Healing Hearts with Horses is an experiential counseling facility that provides clinically sound therapeutic interventions utilizing equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) and equine assisted learning (EAL).
Equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP) and equine assisted learning (EAL) is a collaborative effort between a mental health professional and an equine specialist in cooperation with the horse and the client/group. This professional approach to counseling and learning allows clients of all ages to address behavioral, emotional, spiritual, and relationship issues using horses as an intervention tool.
At this time, our sessions are offered in a group setting on a weekly basis in partnership with local recovery centers. We utilize experiential and solution-focused methods that incorporate horses into the therapeutic process. All therapeutic work is done from the ground and there is no horsemanship required (non-riding program).
We are proud of the group equine therapy work we are doing at two short-term Residential Co-occurring Facilities. We serve approximately 25 to 30 clients a week in this format and are seeing amazing results. We are also an EAGALA Military Service Provider and are seeing restoration and healing for military service members, veterans and their families through our equine assisted Military Support Services.
